After an incredible trip to California last month, I realize it’s going to be hard to top the photos from that trip for awhile. Rather than wallowing in photo ennui (look it up, it’s a French-derived term that my friend recently taught me), I’ve tried to make an effort to keep getting out and shooting photos for fun in my spare time.
Speaking of the California trip, there was one camera lens that I didn’t get to take with me. It was a tough decision not to bring my macro lens, but in the end I decided it was just too heavy to justify bringing it. So this past week, I saw the macro lens making a sad face in my camera bag. I caved in and twisted it onto my camera.
With a macro lens, you don’t have to go far to find beauty. There’s mystery and beauty all around – even in my front yard. Here are a few shots from the afternoon.
